Great for when you had to saw a bevel on a big timber, or variable bevels on plank edges (to accommodate caulking) The head tilts so that you don't have to tilt the work, affording a flat. There are plenty of more traditional style band saws with tilting tables instead of a fixed deck table and tilting the blade.
